Oneonta Job Corps Academy defeated Hitchcock Contracting 39–37 in a physical, low-scoring Super League opener. The game never left the 40s. Job Corps made four threes; Lime went 0-for-12 from deep and still had a chance at the end.

Game Flow

Hartwick’s first tip of Fall 2026 was a half-court fight. Neither side could get clean looks, and the scoreboard never threatened 50. Lime won the glass early behind Naji Lawrence’s 14 rebounds and still trailed when the last possession died. Job Corps forced 11 steals and made the only threes that mattered. The last two points decided it.

Standout Performances

Oneonta Job Corps Academy (Military Green)

  • James Bunton earned Player of the Game with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist on 5-of-10 shooting.
  • Josiah Sutton scored 8 points on 3-of-6, including 2-of-4 from three.
  • Jessie Barnes added 3 points and 5 rebounds.
  • Quincy Mayfield protected the paint with 10 rebounds and 3 blocks.
  • Naz Everson added 4 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 steals.

Hitchcock Contracting (Lime)

  • Jared Conklin scored 12 points with 6 rebounds and 3 assists on 4-of-15.
  • Naji Lawrence took 14 rebounds and scored 1 — Lime won the glass and lost the game.

Team Stat Comparison

  • Final Score: Military Green 39 | Lime 37
  • Field Goal %: OJCA 32% (17-53) | Lime 30% (15-50)
  • 3PT %: OJCA 29% (4-14) | Lime 0% (0-12)

  • Turnovers: OJCA 16 | Lime 20
  • Steals: OJCA 11 | Lime 4
  • eFG%: OJCA 35.8% | Lime 30.0%

Advanced Metrics Analysis

The three-point gap decided it. Lime shot 15-for-50 and did not make a single three. OJCA shot 17-for-53 and 4-for-14 from deep — four makes against twelve misses is the entire two-point margin. Lime’s 12 assists and Lawrence’s 14 boards were real. Twenty turnovers and a 0-for-12 from three were more real. Quincy Mayfield’s first Super League game was 10 rebounds and 3 blocks on the winning sheet.

Standout Performances

Team Blendos (Ash Grey)

  • Nate Cohen dropped a 51-point noon on 20-of-33 (11-of-14 inside, 9-of-19 from three), 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 4 blocks. First 50-ball of Fall 2026. eFG% 74.2%.

Player of the game Jordan Gutierrez · 52 PTS · 12 REB · 7 AST

Jordan Gutierrez — 2:00 PM
Jordan Gutierrez · 2:00 PM · 52 PTS · 12 REB · 7 AST

Pink defeated Poolbrook Operations 130–17. Jordan Gutierrez was Player of the Game.

Grey is a young Operations group — new to Super League, some of them barely past modified — and they stayed on the floor the whole game. The score is the score. The context travels with it.

Game Flow

Pink’s offense ran from the jump. Gutierrez scored 52 on 24-of-38 with 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Marc Rivera had 23. Stevie Melendez went 18-20-11. Jared Hawkins had 17-12-10. Two triple-doubles in the same game. Gavin Koren led Grey with 6. Grey took the reps against a club that can score on anyone in this field. That is how a young roster gets Super League minutes.

Standout Performances

Pink

  • Jordan Gutierrez — Player of the Game — 52 points on 24-of-38 (20-of-23 from two, 4-of-15 from three), 12 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals. Career high on file is 53. This was one make off it.
  • Stevie Melendez posted a triple-double: 18 points, 20 rebounds, 11 assists.
  • Jared Hawkins posted a second triple-double: 17 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists.
  • Marc Rivera scored 23 with 8 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals.

  • Alex Gutierrez grabbed 14 rebounds.

Team Stat Comparison

  • Final Score: Pink 130 | Grey 17
  • Field Goal %: Pink 51% (56-109) | Grey 12% (8-66)
  • Rebounds: Pink 75 | Grey 30
  • Assists: Pink 42 | Grey 3
  • Turnovers: Pink 9 | Grey 20
  • Steals: Pink 23 | Grey 6
  • AST/TO: Pink 4.67 | Grey 0.15

Advanced Metrics Analysis

Pink shot 56-for-109, dealt 42 assists, grabbed 75 boards, and forced 23 steals. Grey shot 8-for-66. Two triple-doubles, a 52-point night, and a 130-point club entry all landed in the same box. Grey is using Sunday as learning and conditioning, not a finished product. They stayed on the floor. The 130–17 is a Super League statement night. It is also how a young roster gets official GP.

What the board missed

Preseason had Jade as the No. 2 club. They lost 60–55 to M McCoy Construction and 92–86 to Black. Kevin Kurkowski’s 5-for-24 in the first one is the shot chart that started it. He answered with 34-12-5 in the nightcap. That line deserved a win. It did not get one.

Black was a middle-of-the-pack card. They beat Jade by six and Yellow by 55. Team Blendos did what a favorite is supposed to do: 105–83 and 116–58. Pink scored 245 in two games. The 2 o’clock was Pink against a young Poolbrook Operations roster using Super League for learning and conditioning. They stayed on the floor. The 3 o’clock was different: Navy put 81 on the board and still lost by 34.

Two games never left the 40s: OJCA 39–37 Lime, Orange 40–35 Yellow. Maroon 82–63 Navy was the one that looked like the preview. McCoy over Jade was the one that didn’t. One Sunday is a small sample.
