Round 1 recap
5:00 PM · Hartwick College
The 1-seed against the 49-point night
Team Blendos (Ash Grey)vsM McCoy Construction (Green)
Team Blendos just scored 133. Sam Booth 36-13-7. Nate Cohen 35 and 7 threes. Hobson Herlihy 31. Cam LaClair 23. Five players, three of them over 30, and Lime never got the game under 40.
McCoy’s path was narrower. Zyeir Lawrence scored 49 of their 71, with 12 boards and 8 turnovers. Ryan Ashline had 4 steals and 8 points. The rest of that sheet was a handful of role lines and a long DNP list. Navy still only lost by 10.
If Zyeir gets to 40 again, this is a game. If Blendos’s threes show up the way they did at the Armory, it is not.
House tip: Team Blendos 98, McCoy 81.
Watch: Zyeir Lawrence’s shot volume, and whether Nate Cohen sees a hand.

The upset against the forfeit
Oneonta Job Corps Academy (Military Green)vsPink
Job Corps beat Cam’s 64–62. That is a 6–1 club, in overtime the week before, with Evan Lane grabbing 22 rebounds. Naz Everson and Tyviss Greene Surphin had 15 each. Tyviss had 7 steals. Josiah Sutton had a 13-10.
Pink did not play. Black forfeited, 50–0, and nobody on the Pink sheet got a game. Their last real night was the regular-season closer, a 71–53 win over Hitchcock. They are 7–1 with the best defense in the league, and they are walking in cold.
A forfeit is a win. It is not a rhythm. Job Corps just played a two-point playoff game. Pink has not played a playoff game.
House tip: Pink 74, Job Corps 61. The 7-seed is live. Do not write this as a walkover.
Watch: Whether Pink’s first five minutes look like a team that hasn’t been checked in a week.

Championship guess
Blendos or McCoyvsJob Corps or Pink
The bracket says the winners play an hour later, same court, Hartwick.
The guess from here is Team Blendos against Pink. Blendos has the only offense that has looked unfair this month. Pink is the only defense that spent the regular season taking points off the board. Job Corps can wreck that guess if the 6:00 stays as tight as the Cam’s game. McCoy can wreck it if Zyeir has another 49 in him.
If it is Blendos and Pink: Blendos 91, Pink 78. Pink hangs around because they don’t give up 133. They do not have an answer for Booth and Cohen on the same night.
If Job Corps wins the 6:00, the title game is Blendos by 20. House still takes the 1-seed.
Watch: Who is standing at 6:55. The 7:00 is not a separate sport. It is whoever survived the hour before.
